Apple Wireless Keyboard MC184LL/B [NEWEST VERSION

For use with your Mac as well as your iPod, the sleek, completely cable-free aluminum Apple Wireless Keyboard uses Bluetooth technology, so you're free to move the keyboard just about anywhere within range and wirelessly type away. Use the Apple Wireless Keyboard on your desk, on your lap, or anywhere within 30 feet of your Mac or iPad.Its compact design takes up 24 percent less space on your desktop than full-size keyboards, so you have extra room to move the keyboard around and mouse comfortably alongside of it. You'll also feel a difference when you type on its low-profile anodized aluminum enclosure with crisp, responsive keys. Use the function keys for one-touch access to a variety of Mac features such as screen brightness, volume, eject, play or pause, Exposé, and Dashboard. The Apple Wireless Keyboard requires just two AA batteries, and its intelligent power management system conserves battery life. So when you're not using the keyboard, it automatically powers down. The instant you start typing, it turns back on. Use the on or off switch when you're away from your computer for a long time.

Apple's wireless keyboard paired with Apple's iPad 2? Of course they make a great pair. I already have a beautiful case for my iPad and wasn't interested in getting a keyboard that was integrated into a case. My main use with the keyboard will be extending the usefulness of the iPad for writing when I am home. That being said, I wanted a keyboard small enough so that if I did want to pop it into a bag and take it with me it wouldn't take up very much room. This keyboard is perfect! Don't let it's compact size (8 3/32"l x 5 1/8"w x 3/4" - at the back, most of it is only 1/8" deep) fool you. This is a full function keyboard. Setup was a breeze. I just turned it on, made sure bluetooth was turned on on the iPad, and watched the little lights blink as the two peices of equipment said hello and got aquainted. Screen brightness, volume and play/pause/track are all controllable with the keyboard. To go back to the iPad's screen keyboard just use the eject button on the wireless keyboard. Apple's iPad 2 and Wireless Keyboard clearly recognize each other as two peices of fruit from the same family tree.

It was super easy to pair up with my MacBook and works very well. I also like its all aluminum construction and slim design. It fits perfectly on my desktop (limited space) and can easily be rearrange because it's wireless. It's also one less wire to clutter up my desk and get in the way. I cannot comment on the battery life yet because I've only had it for 24 hours. I will update my review when I change my batteries. My only complaint is for the lack of PGUP/PGDN/INS keys that you'd find on a more traditional keyboard. Those keys make life easier when using certain applications, like vim or less at the command line. However, I won't subtract a star for this because I knew this when I purchased the item.
